You can talk about just about anything here in the free discussion thread. Doesn't have to be Obidala, doesn't even have to be Star Wars. Just be kind and keep it classy!

I. AM! Omg. I think the format they're planning on using is going to suit it so much better than a two-hour film. They'll really be able to tell a complex and thoughtful story like the ones they were known for.

So this is really random . . . or maybe not so random. So I was watching all the lovely vids people made and a thought occurred to me. There are so many editing "manips" that Obidala vidders use -- like the celebration after the Battle of Naboo where the Padme looks at Obi-Wan and smiles or the AotC/RotS one where she's on the balcony brushing her hair and he comes out to see her.
The thought that hit me was this: I've seen these edits so much that I actually don't see them as edit foolery anymore. When I see them in vids my Obidala mind now instantly sees them as beautiful moments shared solely between Obi-Wan and Padme. Interesting, no??

Oh my gosh Rosalie, that is the same with me. So much so, that I've almost forgotten that Obidala is technically non-canon. I've seen and used these manips so much that when I actually watch Star Wars and see Padmé with Anakin, I'm like, "What is this?! Padmé why are you stepping out on Obi?!" I get so confused but then I realise the truth, and it sucks.

LMAO! It's so TRUE!! Cause it's all so clear to me and then George was like, "Nope! I'm cutting all of it. But you can keep the sub-text." And then I'm like:

Yes to both! I'm cautiously optimistic for the X-Files revival. The second film sucked but a series has the potential to be better, although I'll have to get used to the idea that the actors are so much older. As for the vidding scenes: I think we all have that. Us vidders use certain scenes so much that we've really grown accustomed to them. : P
