The question for today is a bit different. Generally, over the last few years, interest in the OVOC has seemed to wain a bit. Submissions have been fewer and attendance has been lower. So the question is regarding participation and our events going forward.
In the future, would you like to see us maintain the same annual event schedule? With The OVOC each February and Anniversary Celebrations every five years in June? Or something else?
Please provide as much information about your decision as you can.

I find it difficult sometimes to be on the board at the same time as everyone else during the convention because I only get the chance to be on my laptop during the mornings.
I think perhaps if we open the prep for the OVOC earlier than we do, it might generate more of a response. I'm not sure if its the timing that causes a problem for people.

I wish more people had answered this question so we could know if that's the case! When were you thinking would be a good time to call for OVOC submissions? Like late summer/early fall?
I know that, for me, I find it difficult sometimes to roll from a celebration push into an OVOC push. Just lack of physical and creative energy. But if that's not the case for people and giving them more time would give us more submissions, then I wouldn't have to worry about doing as many submissions myself.

I thought early fall, given the timing of the June convention. We usually say in December or Jan, don't we? and I think people might find that a bit too short to come up with something.
It might be an idea to email this question to members and see if it garners more of a response then.

I remember it going both ways in recent years actually. Early notifications and late ones. But I agree with you about the e-mail. Maybe people would respond more. Would you like to do that?? Or you want me to compose something for you to send?
