The focus of today's question has to do with the two actors behind out favorite pairing:
What are your favorite fllms of Ewan and Natalie (besides SW) and why? And, as an optional follow-up, if Ewan and Nat were to be in another film together, what kind would you like to see?
Enjoy! Please be respectful of others' views and remember that there are discussion questions for each day of the celebration. So stay tuned for tomorrow and if you missed yesterday, you can always go back and reply.

All good choices Katja. And you've made it very very difficult for me to pick now! Haha.
Um . . . Favorite for Ewan? Probably "Moulin Rouge," just because he was able to show so much dimention as an actor and performer. I mean high drama, singing, dancing, romancing? Can't get much better than that. For selfish reasons I'll have to say "Angels and Demons" too. I'm going to avoid spoilers here but I will say that when I heard he was playing the Camerlengo I was overjoyed. Because I had read the book and just knew he'd be so perfect. And he did an amazing job.
For Natalie I have two as well. First I'll say "The Professional." It was the first film I ever saw her in and I thought she was amazing. Acting like that at that age? Wonderful. Secondly I'll say "V for Vendetta" because she did such a great job of allowing us to see the title character as her character did. She really humanized the film. And took a HUUUGE creative chance and shaved her head . . . very hardcore!
As for what I'd like to see them do in a movie together in the future: I'd like an epic romance. I know some are like "didn't we have enough 'epic' 'romance' in SW," but I'm talking about romance that's more belivable and better written . . . with lots of steamy bits.
What!? I'm a fangirl. I like to watch!

Natalie-- The Other Boleyn Girl is the only one I've seen, despite the fact that I HATED its portrayal of Anne Boleyn, as a major history buff, I had to go see it.
Ewan- Moulin Rouge, hands down.

I cycle through Ewan movies like every month, so this month, I'd have to say Down With Love. He's just so darn cute in it! And I love the acting, the whole 60's vibe. I really love them all though. Trainspotting is actually one of my all time favorites, I can't get enough of it, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention A Life Less Ordinary! And yes, yes, we all know Moulin Rouge is superb! I did really like Men Who Stare at Goats. Unfortunately, I haven't seen The Ghost Writer yet I really need to get on that. I could watch The Island everyday and never tire! For Natalie, I'd have to say Closer. I loved the story line, I thought it was unique enough, and it didn't hurt that Jude Law was present. I think Ewan and Natalie should be in an action movie with romance, that would be great! ;D I've been having a hard time finding these movies; Brassed Off, Rogue Trader, and Nightwatch. Anybody have any suggestions?

So for Ewan, I have to say of course Moulin Rouge because it displayed his exceptional voice. I couldn't believe that it was him singing, it was so damn good. Nicole Kidman's voice was tiny compared to his organ... Also I loved The Island, because I thought it was kinda cute how he and Scarlet discovered the world... The Men Who Stare At Goats was funny. OK, it was ridiculous but that's why I loved it.
Natalie was awesome in The Professional. Moreover, I kinda liked Where the Heart Is and Anywhere But Here. She is a darn good actress.

@ April: I found Nightwatch at my local video store . . . but then again that was when people were still renting VHS . . . A few of the others are on TV occasionally. Check TVnow.com (I think that's it) and type in his name. It'll tell you what movies of his will be on tv and when.

Well, I'm going to be honest, I haven't seen many other movies with Ewan and Natalie. I've seen a few other movies with Ewan - Moulin Rouge, Big Fish, Down With Love, and Angels and Demons. Loved them all. Moulin Rouge has got to be my favorite, but he was funniest in Down with Love. I remember the first time I saw that movie, I think I watched it on a school night (it was just this year, too! ), I'd had a horrible day. And when I was done watching it, I was so happy - I'd forgotten about my bad day! But, Ewan is the whole package. You couldn't ask for more I don't think. As for Natalie, I don't think I've seen any of her other films other than The Other Boleyn Girl. Now, Phillipa Gregory, the author of the book, is one of my favorite authors of all time. I've read about a half dozen of her books, and they're works of art. And TOBG is no exception. I hated the movie. I probably wouldn't watch it again. BUT, I will say, Natalie did great. All the actors did. But, it still sucked. I highly recommend the book. You'll see what you were missing. I wish with all my heart and soul that they would do another movie together! The chemistry they would have would light up the screen! Maybe they will someday...

I'm afraid I haven't seen a lot of Natalie's movies; only The Other Boleyn Girl, which as a fellow History buff and Anne Boleyn devotee, I hated how much they stretched historical fact, even though I thought she made a good Anne, and Closer, which I found online and had to rush through, so I don't think I fully appreciated it.
As for Ewan, I recently went mad and brought four of his films at once. Star Wars, obiviously he was brilliant, I'd wear those dvds out if I had to go to them for caps all the time.
I loved him in Angels and Demons, I adore anything Baz does, so Moulin Rouge is a must see. (I can't believe I didn't notice how hot he is in that movie when I first watched it.) Down with Love always makes me laugh.
I watched the Island first for Sean Bean, then for Ewan, and now for both of them. Such a good movie, I think I appreciate it the more I watch it.
My favourite film at the moment however, has to be Deception. I adore the plotline and I think his wide eyed innocence transformed into one who wants justice and revenge is fantastic.
I have yet to see TMWSAG and Ghost Writer, waiting for dvd rental to send them.
As for seeing them in something together, I'm wish for it daily. I love if it were Pride, Prejudice and the Zombies, his Darcy to her Elizabeth Bennet, because then it would combine my two favourite passions; Austen and Obidala.

Oh, yes, Big Fish, I forgot to mention that one. I was crying like a baby when I saw it for the first time. Angels and Demons was okay but I prefer Ewan in funny or romantic movies. Though Trainspotting is worth mentioning, too.

Aside from the Star Wars prequels, the Ewan movies I've got are The Island, Moulin Rouge, Down With Love and Angels & Demons. But I've seen even more! ;D Deception, Big Fish, A Life Less Ordinary, (LWR & LWD), Valiant, Robots, Miss Potter and Stormbreaker. Then I even saw a little of Scenes of a Sexual Nature, Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, The Pillow Book, Emma, Velvet Goldmine, Little Voice, Nora, Young Adam and Lipstick On Your Collar. As for Natalie, I saw The Other Boleyn Girl, V For Vendetta, Goya's Ghosts, Léon and a liitle of Closer, Where The Heart Is, Anywhere But Here, Cold Mountain, Garden State, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium and Mars Attacks. But I don't have any DVDs of her. Ewan was so gorgeous and innocent as Lincoln in The Island. Tom on the other hand, was not so innocent. Moulin Rouge - le sigh. So beautiful, I couldn't believe he was such a good singer. I'd have constant dreams of him serenading me...wow. Down With Love - so funny, and A&D - the hottest priest alive! I swear I'm going to Hell and what's worse I went to Confession yesterday. Like I've been good since. Natalie was amazing in V For Vendetta and Goya's Ghosts ...and I need to leave quickly or I'll be late for Sunday Mass. *thinks of Camerlengo* I would love for Ewan and Natalie to be in an epic romance or a romantic comedy. They just have so much chemistry together and Ewan's starred twice with a few of his female co-stars, so it would be terrible if he couldn't star alongside Natalie again. Let's hope! Okay, I've gotta go now. First Church, then I've gotta visit Grandma, but then I'll be back! That reminds me, Ewan's gonna be on Soccer Aid today. * goes of to put it on record* Ciao!

Another Anne Boleyn devotee! *does happy dance!* I think she did make a good Anne, but I HATED how she acted at the execution.
